Originally named the American Brotherhood for the Blind, the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults was established in 1919. Since that time, we have provided programs and services to the blind and deafblind mostly without cost and always with an emphasis on Braille. We inspire the fundamental importance of independence, Braille literacy, tactile fluency, and equality for the blind.
Tactile Art Teach-In
Blind people deserve access to art. During this free workshop, you will gain hands-on experience with tactile drawing and graphics. You can choose between two tracks. Select the educator track to learn nonvisual techniques to teach art, or the learner track to learn tactile art and support educator training.
Space is limited.
2025 Braille Books Selected!
Author of the My Fox series, David Blaze, shared, “Reading books will take you on adventures you never imagined, to thrilling places you've never been, introduce you to silly and amazing characters, and give you the knowledge and wisdom of kings and queens. There is nothing else in this world that can do what reading can do.” We will have six of the My Fox series in 2025.
